Phase One was getting the car into useable, running condition.

A lot of work lay between being unloaded from the TFX trailer and the photo on the right. The car arrived in fairly poor condition, but was also very rust free. The body was dinged and scratched, had a leaky windshield, leaky rear window and wore four odd tires on odd rims. Leaves, gravel, dirt and other debris was stuck under the bumpers, under the wheel wells and in the front cowl. The interior was much worse. The torn headliner hung down so you could not see, the front seat foam had turned to dust and mice had been living in the air vents using rear seat felt as a nest! The red carpet was now black in the front and faded white in the rear. The trunk contained an assortment of garbage, tools and car parts...nothing very salvageable though.

The first night it was home my wife and I lay in the back and looked up at the stars through the large back window, until finally the smell of mildew and dust forced us out! We set about cleaning the car and prepping it for a trip to the mechanic. See the 3 photo albums below!
